Welcome

The Potosi-Tennyson Sewer Commission oversees the management, operation, and maintenance of the Potosi and Tennyson public sewer system.

We are committed to providing reliable wastewater services that protect public health, support our community, and preserve the local environment. Serving residents and businesses alike, our focus is on responsible infrastructure management, transparent operations, and long-term planning to meet the needs of our town.

The Wastewater Treatment Plant

The Potosi-Tennyson wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) is located at 100 Plant Street and was built in 1958 and serves approximately 1,000 residents and local businesses. It relies on a biological treatment process where naturally occurring microorganisms—often referred to as simply "bugs"—break down clean wastewater before it's safely released back into the environment.

All residents and businesses play a role by being mindful of what goes down the drain. We encourage you to stay involved by attending monthly meetings, asking questions, and sharingyour feedback.
